HgH DIY Essential Oil Shower Steamers With Two Scentscapes™

Ready in 20 minutes

Makes 25 Small Steamers

Ingredients

• 1 Cup Aluminum Free Baking Soda
• ½ Cup Organic Cornstarch
• ½ Cup Citric Acid
• 3 Tbsp. Distilled Water

• 1 Tbsp. Dried Ground Herbs (Optional: I love Chamomile Flowers in Mine)
• Natural Colorant or Food Colouring (Optional)

Preparation

1. Combine in large bowl Baking Soda, Citric Acid and Cornstarch using bottle brush or pastry cutter to smooth out and blend together any lumps.
2. Add water slowly, 1 tbsp. at a time. You need to be very careful while adding the water because if too much is added too quickly, the whole bowl will fizz up! Be patient and add in little bits, mixing as you add. Test mixture by grabbing some with the tips of fingers. When it feels damp like the “perfect sandcastle sand”, you know your consistency is correct!
3. If multiple Scentscapes are desired separate mixture into batches, each in its own bowl. If splitting in half, remember to cut the essential oils total in half as well, likewise if in three, split essential oil measurement into thirds!

1. Add essential oils to mixture and colourant if desired, after each 4-6 drops of oil are added mix well with a pastry cutter, fork or bottle brush. Add colourant using toothpick until desired hue is reached . **1 drop goes a long way and adding too much can stain your shower floor!
2. Fill silicone molds and tap down. If overfilled, “mushroom top” will result. If this happens, DON’T PANIC! The steamers will still work the same regardless, and if the look bothers you, simply take some sandpaper and gently sand down the bottom to desired flatness and shape!
3. Set silicone molds aside and let air dry for 12 hours. Alternately you can place the molds in an oven preset to 250º F for 15-20 minutes for a “quick dry”
4. Carefully remove from molds and sand down to shape is so desired. Package in Mason Jar or other sealable glass jar and “Fancy-Up” with ribbon and a nice label! Perfect for Gift-Giving!

To Use

Take into the shower with you, wet it under the stream of water to get it going. Place the steamer at the far end of the bath/shower stall. You want it to last, and if it's under the stream of water it will disappear too quickly.

Tips

• Store up to 6 months in an air-tight jar in a cool, dark, dry area.
• Keep Steamer on a small plate in the corner of the shower so there is no mess on the floor of the shower to clean up!

Caution

Because you are bringing oils into the shower, make sure you use a shower mat, and wipe out the shower floor when you are done.
